Argentine Evangelist Carlos Annacondia is coming to San Diego, Saturday, September 25 through Sunday, October 3, 1999, to lead an nine-day bilingual crusade in which he will preach the gospel, heal the sick and bring mass salvation to the peoples of Tijuana, Mexicali and San Diego County. Crusade meetings will start at 7 p.m.
Annacondia's San Diego County crusade is intended to draw together, for the first time, churches of numerous denominations throughout San Diego, Tijuana and Mexicali. There will also be 11 a.m. meetings for church leaders, Monday, Sept. 27 through Saturday, Oct. 2, hosted by Carlos Annacondia, his wife, Maria Annacondia, or Annacondia's Pastor, Pedro Ibarra.
The Annacondia crusade meetings will take place on the athletic field at the former Naval Training Center, in San Diego. They are sponsored by a network of more than 80 churches and ministries from both sides of the U.S.Mexico border. The network, operating under the name "Revive San Diego," has united to accomplish the task of bringing widespread revival, or an invigorated recommitment to Christ and Christian living, to Greater San Diego and the border regions of northern Baja California.
Carlos Annacondia is one of the most talked-about and watched international evangelists in the world today. He is recognized as a leader of the Argentine Revival, one of the greatest church movements of the 20th Century. He has been described by some observers as "the Billy Graham of Latin America," attracting more than three million souls to the Christian faith, initiating miraculous church growth within his nation, and working numerous documented miracles and wonders in demonstration of the supernatural power of Jesus Christ.
"After observing the ministry of Carlos Annacondia both at a distance and first hand, I am prepared to offer a hypothesis," says church historian and author Dr. C Peter Wagner. "Although some other likely contenders may be Reinhard Bonnke or Billy Graham, my guess is that Annacondia may well turn out to be the most effective crusade evangelist of all time."
Annacondia attributes his phenomenal success in Argentina to a holy unity between all churches that unleashed a miraculous outpouring of the Holy Spirit. More than 1000 volunteers have already joined together to train and prepare for Annacondia's visit.
The crusade meetings, which will take place nightly at 7 p.m., are expected to draw large daily crowds of thousands of people. Enthusiastic, "high energy" praise and worship, preaching of the gospel, and healing of the sick mark these festival-like services.
This will be Annacondia's largest crusade in Southern California to date. He visited Ventura County in May of 1998, drawing 90 churches and thousands of people together to worship for three nights in Oxnard's College Park.
