"Hot Summer Night"
Labor Day weekend is traditionally the last gasp of summer. This year a toast to the end of summer can be made at the final Hot Summer Night event in the historic village of Fallbrook. Towns-folk and their guests will be able to sample a wide variety of wines, red, white and blush along with a selection of beers and non-alcoholic beverages. The refreshment ticket price of $9 at the door includes a commemorative wine glass. Plan early and pay only $7 prior to the start of the event on Friday September 3rd 6pm to 8:30pm. Barona Pow-Wow
Native American culture at the 29th Annual Barona Pow Wow is taking place Friday, September 3 through Sunday, September 5 on the Barona Indian Reservation. Tribal dancing and music, crafts, games and authentic Native American food will be featured during the three-day event. Admission and parking are free to the public.
More than 400 Native American dancers from around the country will showcase their talents and compete for cash prizes in tribal dance competitions throughout the weekend. The Pow Wow will also feature artisans displaying and selling Native American jewelry and crafts. Food booths will feature Indian Fry Bread and other traditional dishes. `Carreras de Cross Country'
Estamos de nuevo registrando a los jovenes, niños, y niñas que desean participar con (SCRR-SD) "The Southern California RoadRunners of San Diego" y formar parte de este equipo donde participaremos en Carreras de "Cross Country".

"When Angels Appear"
Coronado Playhouse has added "When Angels Appear," a new comedy, to its fall line-up. The play features the mis-adventures of a young angel who is assigned the mission to assist a single mother and her daughter. The play runs Thursday thru Sunday evenings, Sept. 9 10, 11 & 12 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children for general seating. The Coronado Playhouse is located at 1775 Strand Way in Coronado. For more information call: 435-4856. This is an inspirational story for the children of today and tomorrow. The family play is being presented in Coronado Playhouse's outdoor theatre by the bay.
Peruvian Artists
Southwestern College School of Arts and Communication presents "Retablos from Ayacucho" featuring internationally acclaimed Peruvian retablo artists, Claudio Jiménez Quispe and Vicenta Flores, September 1-24 in the college Art Gallery. Jiménez will be available for small group instruction and demonstrations during the month-long celebration. All events are free to the public. The art of retablo making is used by many modern revisionist artists to commemorate the history of ancient and modern Peru.
Las Vegas International Mariachi Festival
The spectacular Las Vegas International Mariachi Festival is back on the world famous Las Vegas Strip, in Las Vegas' newest resort, the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.

Julio Iglesias Returns
Following last year's popular engagement, Julio Iglesias, Grammy Award winner and the biggest-selling recording artists in history, returns to Segerstrom Hall at the Orange County Performing Arts Center October 22-24. Julio will perform songs from his most recent album My Life: The Greatest Hits, as well songs from his album Tango.

Harbor Days Festival
Thousands of visitors are expected to attend Chula Vista's 13th annual Harbor Days Festival to be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, September 18 and 19 at South San Diego Bay, off I5 and J Street in Chula Vista.
The family-oriented free event, which highlights water activities, includes tours on Tall Ship Californian, a celebrity vessel, as well as headliner bands, cultural and community entertainers 200 classic cars, and more than 300 booths that provide food, arts and crafts exhibits, interactive activities and local services. Carnival and train rides, astro jumps, face painters, and a variety of water sports also are planned.
