Southwestern College invites the community to join together to honor Bill Virchis' 25th anniversary celebration of award-winning and internationally-known musical theatre. "The Silver Celebration...A Tribute to William Virchis" to benefit the Southwestern College Fine Arts programs will be held Saturday, November 7, in Mayan Hall, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 for general admission, which includes a pre-performance reception and entrance to silent auction that will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at SWC Box Office, open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to noon.
This reunion-style show will be a collection of Virchi's most popular stage productions and will reunite the original cast members from shows include, "Tommy," "Hair," and "Bandido." The silent auction will be an array of collectibles donated by celebrities such as Danny Valdez and Luis Valdez of "Zoot Suit," "La Bamba," and TeatroCampesino, and Craig Noel of the Old Globe Theatre along with others will to raise money for SWC Foundation in support of future theatre activities as well as enhanced activities for students pursuing theatre degrees.
