City of National City/

Ciudad de National City

Mayor

Hate to say it, but it is time that GEORGE WATERS hang it up and retire. Go out to pasture George and have a beer with boys at the Elbo Inn. The city needs a new perspective except being a handmaiden to the "wheeler dealers" of the "Mile of Cars." Folks have just gotten tired of your "good ole boy" promises that never came about. Have you been around the Barrio lately George? You should have, 60% of the city lives there. Still pretty much looks the same as when you first took office.

I say let's get the woman's touch in there and elect ROSALIE (TOLEDO) ZARATE! Rosalie has been a-learning the ropes for mucho tiempo and has earned the right to see what she can do. I am sure the "good OLE boys" at the car lots won't be happy but isn't it time that the RESIDENTS GOT A BREAK?

VOTE FOR ROSALIE TOLEDO ZARATE!

City Council

La Prensa San Diego Recommends Albert Alvarado and Alma Sarmiento Graham for election to the City Council.

Al Alvarado has labored hard and long for the city. Be it in sports, where he coaches, manages a teen-baseball team that he manages to raise the funds for, or whether it is in his job as Aide to Congressman Bob Filner. Daily, Al can be seen going about the City of National City taken care of the residents. Al knows the problems of the area and is well connected to do something about them. La Prensa believes he deserves a chance at seeing what he can do.

VOTE FOR ALBERT "Al" ALVARADO

Alma Sarmiento Graham is a well-known figure in the Boardroom of the National City Elementary School District. Much of the credit for the good that has come about in the school district has come about for her untiring efforts in behalf of the school children. She has the skills, the knowledge and desire to expand her vision and move on to a higher level.to the City Council. We feel she will have an impact in council chambers that will matter to the residents and not just be concerned about the "Mile of Cars."

City of Chula Vista

City Council seats

Patty Davis is our choice for the City Council Seat 1

We can't cotton up to the candidacy of Al Salganick who in the past has tried to "buy" influence with the city. A city needs people that have some knowledge of the city. He has little beyond his own self-interests. Patty has the knowledge and has been around the track once or twice. She will be a plus for the Board.

City of La Mesa

MAYOR

Art Madrid the current Mayor has been snookered by the agenda of the National Republican Party as well as the Governor Pete "anti-everything form of Republicanism. This is bad for SENIORS of which there are plenty in La Mesa, bad for MEXICAN AMERICANS, who have suffered the slings and arrows of his Governor, whom Madrid has failed to represent local, statewide and nationally.

La Prensa believes Mr. Madrid should be let go and ED SENECHAL be given the opportunity to represent "THE PEOPLE AND NOT A PARTY" that has proven anti-people.

VOTE FOR ED SENECHAL

City Council

La Mesa voters have an opportunity to clean out the ANTI-PEOPLE CABEL comprising of Berry Jantz & Jay La Suer, they together with Mayor Madrid are responsible for the problems that Seniors are suffering from their Republican rule. Demagogues have no place in non-partisan office.

MICHAEL F. MOON AND SHERRY HOWARD NICHOLS SHOULD JOIN YOUR NEW MAYOR ED SENECHAL in bringing the City of La Mesa back to the business of acting in behalf of the people and not of being lackeys of the State and National "Newt Gingrich Party.

Vote for Michael F. Moon &

Sherry Howard Nichols

Board of Supervisors/Mesa de Supervisores \

5th dist./distrito 5

Bill Horn has had his chance to bring sanity into the actions of the Board of Supervisors with no Effect. Lets give JERRY HARMON a chance to making the Board take into account the diversity of the residents of San Diego County.

VOTE FOR JERRY HARMON

County Treasurer/Tax Collector

Perhaps we have had too many years of the current Treasurer and too cozy a relationship with the Board of Supervisors. It is a concern that the "business as usual" may continue. "The fruit doesn't fall to far from the tree"; in this case Bart Hartman has perhaps spent too much time learning the system. La Prensa believes that perhaps a `breath of fresh' is needed and is supporting CONNY JAMISON to come in and bring some fresh ideas from the City of San Diego.

Vote for Conny Jamison
