Constitution Takes a Back Seat to Mitrovich

Apparently the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights take a back seat to the Slobodan Milosevic Manifesto when George Mitrovich advocates terminating employees of the S.D. Unified School District who are not registered to vote. He further states unregistered teachers are unfit to teach, let alone work for the schools in any other capacity.

It seems that such an impetuous advocacy would cause one to wonder, a la Bill Clinton, what he really means by "terminated".

D.T. Radmilovich, CLU
El Cajon

(Comment; You must take George Mitrovich with a grain of salt. Like all old soldiers, who have been in one too many battles, there is a tendency to see the short, easy solutions no matter what the cost. Mr. Mitrovich has a long record of public service to this city, county, and state where he has had profound observations on our society.)

Mike Aguirre a False Prophet?

The media revels in citing self-proclaimed "taxpayer advocate," Mike Aguirre as a supporter of the ballpark deal… Is Aguirre a friend of the taxpayer?… He did not come forward to oppose the Charger deal, the ticket guarantee, or the first $60,000,000 bond issue for the stadium expansion… Few who know Aguirre believe his commitment was real.

Aside from the Charger deal can anyone name a single bond issue or tax increase that Aguirre has ever publicly opposed?...

Don Goldberg
La Mesa, Calif.

(Comment: Attorney Mike Aguirre is a many faceted talented Attorney who doesn't have bond issues and tax increases as his only public concern. We in our community remember Mike for his unselfish pro-bono work in behalf of Cesar Chavez and the hundreds of thousand of farm workers who suffered under the oppressive yoke of Agribusiness. Of course, Agri-business cared only about making money not matter who suffered under their greed. There are many sides to ones personality and you shouldn't judge someone by only one aspect. I venture to say Mike is probably the only Attorney, on the Prop C issue, that has any integrity… The others…it is still questionable what their motives are.)

OUTLET MALLS LEAVE A LOT TO BE DESIRED

Recently I went to a children's clothing store at Plaza Bonita; an outlet store named Prezaiosos. I purchased a shirt for my child. He tried it on and wore it out of the store. I was at J.C. Penny, when I discovered it was stained. I went right back to where I bought it and tried to return it. I was told they couldn't return it because my son wore it out of the store.

The woman behind the counter was very rude and unprofessional by making comments about me in Spanish. After five minutes of arguing with another sales woman, I asked for the name and phone of the manager/owner… I talked with the owner/manager, he said they could exchange the shirt. By then, I wanted my money back.

I felt the way I was treated by the store personnel was wrong and rude. I finally went to the Mall Manager at the Customers Service booth, The Mall Manager was very helpful and he made the store refund my money. Plus, I GOT TO KEEP THE SHIRT.

I am still angry, there is no call for having untrained personnel that can't speak English at the Plaza Bonita.

Sincerely,
An Ex-Prezziosos Customer

(Comment: Personnel should be Bilingual at all public shopping malls. Unfortunately, some store owners, specially the "Outlet-Malls" are unwilling to pay U.S. wages for the personnel and choose to hire clerks from Tijuana who are not bilingual and work for less, even if it is against the law... This is a self-defeating and money losing proposition.)
