Juan Vargas (On his last leg as a City Councilman), really thinks he is qualified to be the Assembly person for the 79th assembly district? Wow, one thing for sure he believes in miracles. He can forget the DEMOCRATS being of much help. They have this thing with people who betray the party like when he ran against lack luster Bob Filner (Democrat) as a pseudo Republican, with republican money and republican volunteers. He is trying to pull a Pat Robertson and emerge as a born again Mexican.
PROBLEMA: Only other Democrat so far in the race is Dwayne Crenshaw. And he has spent an awful lot of time working for republican office holders! Dwayne claim to fame is that he has the endorsement of every Democratic club and legislator who has endorsed in this race! And just how many and who are they Mr. Crenshaw???? Don't play cute with the press Dwayne especially La Prensa!
CHICK POWER The Democratic National Convention next year will have Lydia Camarillo, from El Paso, Texas as their CEO. Word is out that the VEEP wanted a CHICK rather than a MACHO, banging the gavel… Hey man, señor Banderas would not only get you the woman vote but also the large Cubano vote in Miami and the rest of the nation! Most of the rest of the world has no clue who Lydia is!
Peligro Democrats: republican Sen. John McCain ripped off 50% of the vote in Arizona in his last election and with Tejanos leaning towards Bush… Ole! Al might have a struggle hanging on to La Raza . Not many Chicanos eager for a Clinton clone for another 4 years.
Better late than never: John DeBeck now admits "HE IS SORRY HE SUPPORTED BERSIN FOR SUPERINTENDENT! No sorrier than este Indio is. Tried to tell you not to support him. You said you wouldn't… You lied to me. Now our schools are suffering!. Time to bite the bullet!! It only takes 3 votes to fire him. Or are you folks afraid of the Chamber?
PSSSSSSSST… Señor Smollar it's the small things that make you boss look bad. Bad form to address a letter to the publisher of La Prensa (Daniel Muñoz) and then in the salutation, address it to Ms. Gonzalez! Makes one wonder if the embattled Superintendent really wants to have a tete-a-tete with his nemesis?
Another nail in the Bersin coffin... The Super, fell flat on his behind in efforts to solve "Social Passing" at San Diego UNI. Seems neither teachers nor administrators are reading from the same page as the Super! How much longer are we going to give Superintendent Bersin to learn his job???? How many kids are we going to lose in the educational pipeline? How much longer is it going to take the Board of Trustees to do their job.
Come on Raza, this is not the time to sit by idle and do nothing. You know who is going to suffer the most… Our kids! Get do-nothing Trustee Lopez to earn his huevitos con chili or get the hell off the Board of Trustees!
Word is out that Bersin only took the job as a place holder until his amigo Al Gore gets elected… Then, a fancy appointment will be offered to Bersin… Wags say he will replace Janet Reno as U.S. Attorney General.
Buenas NOTICIAS de Tijuas: Employment is up by 24% over last year! Maybe it is time we send over our Welfare folks to seek work! At the rate that the miss-administration of La Golding one and her Council have allowed the city treasury to be pillaged by the PADRES and CHARGER FOLKS won't be long before we will be worst off than Tijuana and seeking handouts from them to fix our sewers and infrastructure!
MEMO TO POLITICOS: If you are thinking of running for pubic office you had better have some answers on how you are going to solve the Padre stadium mess and how you're going to get Spanos off the free ride they have with the Mayors ticket stupid-deal! You have to demand a halt or they can move to Los Angeles… if they will take them!
