Union Bank of California Celebrates San Ysidro Branch Opening

San Ysidro — Union Bank of California, N.A. (UBOC), recently celebrated the opening of its first branch in San Ysidro with a casual grand opening and a separate, more formal reception and ribbon cutting.

At the ribbon cutting, UBOC marked its commitment to the San Ysidro community by donating $10,000 to Casa Familiar, a non-profit community organization created to help families. The bank also donated more than $300 worth of children's books, a check for $250 and a ribbon of real money totaling $100 to the San Ysidro Library. The ribbon of money donated was the same one cut at the evening's event by San Ysidro Honorary Mayor Doug Perry and Ron Kendrick, Executive Vice President/Area Executive for UBOC.

The public grand opening event attracted more than 200 people who celebrated with food, mariachis, games, and XEWT's characters Tebeo and Lucas the clown.

The new branch is a full-service bank with all bilingual and bicultural staff members. It is located at 424 W. San Ysidro Blvd. and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. To contact the branch, please call (619) 662-4935.
