Laugh of the week ... Mayor Susan Golding and the other inmates at the funny farm just can't figure it out why LITTLE OR NO sub- CONTRACTS are given to Minority & Female firms. Seven years in office with the clueless Mayor and the great silent majority on the city council hasn't stepped up to the plate to strike the Mayor out! Bottom line you can't believe a word they say and you can't trust them no further than you can throw them .... The Golding tenure has NOT been one of San Diego's finest!
POLITICAL Line: All those elected politicians who have been in office during the Susan Golding tenure ..... 7 years of silence while the city's resources have been squandered and the city pillaged — will not have a promising political resume of accomplishments! It will be much easier figuring out who or whom to reject!
Pregunta: Golding's Protégés CITY ATTORNY GWINN, COUNCILMAN GEORGE STEVENS, COUNCILMAN JUAN VARGAS, COUNCILMAN BYRON WARE, COUNCILWOMAN CHRISTIAN KEHOE & BARBARA WARDEN who are running for new offices have a lot of explaining to do to the Voters ... THEY HAVE BETRAYED THE PUBLIC TRUST!
Pues while we are calling them out how about Ron Rudolph, the Project manager for Turner Construction, who has the Convention Center master contract, and would love to do the ballpark and perhaps take some of the goodies that the San Diego Unified School District wants to give away to their friends. He wins the prize for making the stupidest comment of the week for the poor showing by Turner Construction in sub-contracting out jobs to minorities on the Convention job ..."I'm flabbergasted", said Rudolph, " I'm disappointed when I look at the results, but I can't apologize for the effort," he stated.
(Drum roll please) The Turner effort: Paying "Latino Builders Inc." to send 970 flyers and letters to 970 subcontractors!!! (Yup that's right exactly one flyer or a letter per Minority & Female Contractor) Oh, only half of the flyers and letters went to minorities. Turner claims they spent $300,000 for the effort! That comes to $618.55 per flyer or letter going to each of the 485 (970/2=485) minorities they sent the material to! How much public money is involved on this contract, you ask? $216,000,000 (as in millions)! Mr. Rudolph, an apology is not adequate ....... you should be fired for the lousy outreach job you did!
Hummmmm wonder how much money urner Construction has given to the Politicos in the CITY, COUNTY AND THE PORT DISTRICT?????? (Perhaps, we should ask the City Attorney Gwinn). He is suddenly worried about being politically correct)
Gracias to all los Boriquas for their input on Puerto Rico. Not too many of you in San Diego (perhaps 5,000) but your feelings are sincere. Look for more as the next Plebiscite nears.
Dia de La Raza will be celebrated on Oct. 12 a.k.a. Columbus Day. Raza in this sense means all of us that are half-breed i.e. have some Indigenous blood mixed in with some European, Asian, and/or African blood. Raza is really the main "Rainbow" people.

Diaz Balart compares Castro with Nazi leader HITLER. Hijole that's not the way to win friends in la Congress where you need a lot of support, Señora Diaz Balart.
Elizabeth Dole, wanna-be President, did the usual republican thing and lambasted Mexico at the border for daring to serve the needs of Americas drug addicts who can't seem to want to stop sucking up drugs. Her cure: put 20,000 border patrol officers on the border. Let the market place work is what most Republican businessmen say, No buyers no sellers! Kinda-like setting up a smokescreen and setting up a strawhorse so she won't have to do what has to be done!
Another Republican candidate " I wanna-be a SENATOR: Supervisor Bill Horn wants the Mexican Attorney General for Human Rights fired because an American in Tijuana tried TO DO WHAT HE WOULDN'T DARE DO IN THE U.S. attempt to go across the freeways against incoming and outgoing traffic. Once again setting up straw horse to avoid being asked why he doesn't speak out against our politicians who squandered millions of tax payers funds in building a failed trash plant in San Marcos .... Bilbray is the one he should try and remove from public office .... OOPS, I forgot they are both Republicans!.
