"October Comedy Bash"
Featuring three of the hottest comedians in stand-up, starring Harland Williams (Rocket Man; Something about Mary; Down Periscope and soon to be released "Dogg Park with Janeane Garofalo) and Jamie Ken-nedy (Scream I & II, Enemy of the State and newly released Bowfinger starring Eddie Murphy), and hosted by San Diego's own funny man Mike Sisco (La Jolla Comedy Show). Balboa Park's Millennium Celebration
Tickets are now on sale to the party of a lifetime the New Year's Eve extravaganza to welcome in the new millennium. Admission tickets are $25. Tickets for this adults-only party provide access to all Park museums from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. "Parties within the Party" tickets are also available and range from $50 for "Swing-time 2000," $75 for the "Masquerade Ball," to $199.99 for an elegant black tie gala dinner dance. Tickets for any of the "Parties within the Party" include access to the Prado area activities. The Exposition 2000 celebration continues on Saturday, New Year's Day, with an emphasis on "Family Day," and on Sunday, January 2000, "International Day" will showcase San Diego's rich cultural diversity with performances and hands-on activities for families and children.
San Dieguito Concert
A Free Inaugural Concert will be performed on Saturday, October 2, 1999 by the San Dieguito Chamber Orchestra in the Shulman Auditorium of the new Carlsbad City Library. The free concert celebrates the opening of the Library, the Auditorium and the William D. Cannon Art Gallery, all located at 1775 Dove Lane.
The concert features trumpet soloist John Wilds and works by Mozart, Grieg and Tartini conducted by the Chamber Orchestra's Music Director, Warren Gref. Tickets may be obtained in advance at the Library Information Desk or at the William D. Cannon Art Gallery. "Mudfest `99"
Ceramics Artist of San Diego and the San Diego Potters' Guild are hosting Mud-fest `99 on Saturday, October 2nd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Balboa Park at the east end of Del Prado. This event will provide a day of clay fun and games for everyone. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet local potters and support at in your community. Dionne Warwick to Perform in San Diego
One of the recording industry's most valued members, Dionne Warwick, will join a host of performers and the San Diego Symphony Orchestra for "We Can Get There," a concert to benefit AIDS Walk San Diego. The concert, to be held Sunday, October 3, at Copley Symphony Hall, will mark the 10th anniversary of AIDS Walk San Diego as the largest single-day fundraiser, providing funding to HIV and AIDS service providers in San Diego county.
