La Ciudad de las Bestias, el Regreso de Allende

El mes de octubre se vistió de gala, ya que las librerías, a partir de dicho mes, cuentan en su haber con otro maravilloso ejemplar de la gran Isabel Allende, escritora nacida en Perú y criada en Chile, quien, por cierto, es autora de textos tales como: Retrato en sepia, Hija de la fortuna, El plan infinito, Eva Luna, De amor y de sombras y La casa de los espíritus. Allende también nos ha deleitado, además de la novela, con cuentos cortos de los que se mencionan algunos como: Paula y Afrodita y Los Cuentos de Eva Luna.

En esta ocasión, el ejemplar no es solo una excelente muestra narrativa por parte de Allende, sino que, demuestra una vez más que el estilo en cuestión de talento y no del estereotipo. La trama de la obra titulada, La Ciudad de las Bestias, consiste en un joven, el cual padece la enfermedad de su madre, mujer que emana vida energetizando todo lo que le rodeaba, por supuesto y primordialmente, su hogar y sus hijos. Llevando al caos aquella armonía que producía verla siempre jovial y atenta a todo lo que aconteciera a su familia, por tal motivo, era casi imposible sufrir su decadente presente. Debido a tan padeciente destino, la vida de todos los integrantes de la familia Cold, cambió radicalmente y en particular la de Alex Cold quien tuvo la oportunidad de realizar intrépido viaje al lado de su abuela Kate Cold, la cual era corresponsal de Internacional Geographic, quien estaba próxima a realizar una expedición al Amazonas y cuya misión era compilar información a fin de realizar un documental acerca del Yeti del Amazonas, mayormente conocido como “La Bestia”.
