LJ Country Day to Open Campus on November 14

La Jolla Country Day School will host an open house on Saturday, November 14, on the school's campus at 9490 Genesee Avenue. A special session will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. for those interested in the nursery and pre-kindergarten programs (for three- and four-year-olds). Those interested in kindergarten through grade 12 will attend a session that begins at 11 a.m. with registration and refreshments, followed by a formal program and classrooms visits until 12:30 p.m.

Students and their parents will be invited to view Country Day's classrooms, library, observatory, computer labs and music and art studios, as well as the science, theater and athletic facilities. Current students and their parents, teachers and administrators will be available to answer questions about the Country Day curriculum, admissions requirements and student life. College counseling, before- and after-school care, bus service and financial aid will also be discussed. The school has an annual financial aid budget of more than $700,000.

La Jolla Country Day School is an independent, co-educational, non-sectarian, not-for-profit, college preparatory school educating 1000 students. The 24-acre campus is located in San Diego's Golden Triangle, near the University of California at San Diego.

"A dedicated faculty, a challenging college preparatory program, exceptional facilities and a low student to teacher ratio are all aspects of the La Jolla Country Day School experience," said Diane Mothander, director of admissions for the school. "Our emphasis is on the development of the whole child, so art, music, drama, athletics and foreign language instruction are offered at all levels at Country Day. We are a community which nurtures children academically, artistically, and athletically, inspiring our students to become life-long learners and to reach for the stars."
