Moderation Lags in San Diego

The voters in California, except for San Diego and Orange Counties, spanked the Republican Party and its Radical-Right Wing leadership and sent them a huge message "THE ERA OF WEDGE POLITICS AND ITS' ATTENDANT DIVISEVENESS AND HATE FILLED POLITICS IS OVER WITH!"

It is now very clear that the use of the Mexican, Latino, Black and Filipino communities as punching bags for frustrated angry white males is over with. To abuse this segment of the voting public is to have a political death wish. Republicans of all stripes will suffer the consequences of Governor Pete Wilson, Newt Gingrich and their kindred fellows throughout the nation. We now have the power of the voting booth to respond in kind. The levers of power will now be shared. Those who do not wish to participate in this great Democratic experiment can do what they have so often prescribed for minorities: GO BACK TO YOUR HOMELAND! You will now learn what we learned centuries ago: This is our HOME!

Americas' greatness lies in its diversity. We are all not of one race but of a multiplicity of racial and ethnic groups who, in the main, come here seeking freedom, liberty, and a concept of democracy. The attempts by the Radical Right to subvert our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the laws of this nation in order to impose a form of an old world order, that failed miserably in Europe and elsewhere where ever tried, is now over. We will raise as one and fight to defend our precious liberties and rights.

Election '98 was a resounding slap in the face for all the agents of control. In spite of all the efforts of the San Diego Media (print and electronic) to control, deny, and block all avenues of expression, to our people, they couldn't stop the rush to vote out those who oppressed us. It doesn't escape our attention that the MAINLINE MEDIA (PRINT AND ELECTRONIC) HAS FOR YEARS LOCKED OUR PEOPLE OUT. The resounding defeat to their efforts of having our people vote the Republican party line sends a message to these merchants of hate: IT'S OVER WITH! Now the effort must begin to bring the Black, Filipino, and Latino into a solid voting block that can begin to change the extremism of the Republican Party.

San Diego County failed in '98 to move one iota from its Right Wing mentality. That political stance is no longer acceptable. A strong minority block can remove San Diego to the 21st century either peacefully or kicking and screaming. But change it must.
