Free Princeton Review SAT/PSAT Strategy Session at The Malcolm X Library & Performing Arts Center
The Malcolm X Branch Library & Performing Arts Center is offering a free PSAT/SAT Training Session on Monday, November 16th from 6pm-7:30pm. This workshop is open to the public. High School Sophomores, Juniors, and their parents are strongly encouraged to attend.
This program is sponsored by SDPL and is a free to the public. However, you must reserve your seat in the class. The Malcolm X Branch Library is located at 5148 Market Street on the corner of Market St. and Euclid Ave. Please call the library at 527-3405 for additional information.

New Swimming Pool in City Heights
The City Heights Swim Center is just one of several community services of the Urban Village, a $24 million, 11-acre recreational development located at 4380 Landis Street in the City Heights area of San Diego.
The pool will be open year-round and will offer aquatic activities for swimmers of all ages and abilities. Learn-To-Swim classes will be taught by American Red Cross certified instructors employed by the City of San Diego. Competitive swim and water polo teams will be organized to compete in the Park & Recreational Department's established youth recreational leagues. For adults, water fitness classes and lap swim hours will be scheduled. The pool will also be available for recreational swimming and private rentals. Webster Head Start Holds Native American Awareness Day
Neighborhood House Association - Webster Head Start will celebrate Native American culture on Friday, November 13, 1998, from 10:00a.m.-2:00p.m. at 2830 Marcy Ave., San Diego, Ca. 92113. As Thanksgiving approaches Webster head Start will celebrate Native American culture by remembering the first Thanksgiving Dinner when Native Americans and Pilgrims dined together. Several Native American dance groups will perform; there will be displays of Native American artwork. The Head start children will perform songs and dances. A buffet lunch will be served.
Free Clinical Breast Exams
The Comprehensive Health Center in collaboration with the Compañeras En Acción Project at San Diego State University is offering free clinical breast exams and free mammograms to uninsured/underinsured, low income women 50 years or older on Tuesday, November 17th at it's new clinic site located at 286 S. Euclid Avenue, Suite #302, San Diego. Compañeras en Acción partner with Breast Health Services, Inc., an FDA certified mobile mammography facility.

No Cost Ultra-Low Flush Toilets for Homeowners!
On Saturday, November 14, 1998 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. ultra-low flush toilets will be available to homeowners in the City of San Diego at no cost. The ULFT program allows qualified homeowners the opportunity to receive a low flush toilet at a convenient community location.
To qualify for ULFT program, the consumer must be water account customers in the City of San Diego who own and live in their single-family home. Total household income must be below $31,100 for a family of 2; $38,00 for a family of 4; or $45,100 for a family of 6. Seniors age 55 and over have no income restrictions.
Consumers should take their current water bill, gas and electric bill and a photo ID to Crawford High School, located at the corner of Trojan St. and Sharron Dr. in the El Cerrito area of San Diego, on Saturday, Nov. 14. The consumer will receive new ultra-low flush toilets at no cost (up to 2 per household) and must return their old toilet to Crawford on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. for recycling.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event Scheduled for Saturday, November 7
Now is a good time to gather the unused household hazardous wastes from around your house, according to the City of San Diego Environmental Services Department. City of San Diego residents are encouraged to drop by the free household hazardous waste collection event scheduled for Saturday, November 7, from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, 2425 Dusk Drive. This event is part of a year-long schedule for San Diego communities such as Paradise Hills, Bay Terraces, Skyline and Encanto. Note: proof of residency within San Diego city boundaries is required.
