When I spoke against spending tax money to build an expansion for multi-billionaire Alex Spanos, owner of the CHARGERS the white chiefs of this nation, called San Diego, mocked me. Este Indio spoke out against the raiding of city funds to build a `field of dreams' for another multi-millionaire owner, John Moores & his PADRES. The High Priestess of the San Diego Tribe turned her Warlord, Chief McGrory, loose to punish el Indio and take all his wampum away … The High Priestess of the Anglo nation had already been stung by this warrior for exposing her raid on the city treasury to give much wampum and beads to a strange barbaric tribe, The REPUBLICATS, to hold big POW-WOW in our storied land. Natives got restless. To be raided by the enemy is one thing. To have your own chiefs' plunder your treasury is another. The San Diego White Nation is ready to revolt and to deliver their own Warlord and High Priestess Chiefs into the hands of the Big Chief for retribution.
A death of a Mexican American Journalist is always a sad moment. We all cried when a Sheriff's Deputy of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department on August 9, 1970 murdered Ruben Salazar. The recent death of Richard Estrada, Journalist for the Dallas Morning News and a frequent editorialist for the San Diego Union, is not the same thing as the murder of Ruben Salazar. Estrada is remembered as the mouthpiece for FAIR, an extreme Right Wing group that waged war against Chicanos, immigrants, and Mexicans in general. He is memorialized in records of the Committee on Chicano Rights and most Immigrant Rights groups as a male "Melinche " who betrayed our people.

Juan Vargas (D), Hispanic, 8th district Councilman. A candidate who doesn't dare run on his record.
Dwayne Crenshaw (D) Black former aide to Ron Roberts (R), worked for Lt. Governor Cruz Bustamante, while he was an assemblyman, worked for Valerie Stallings, member San Diego City Council,
Petra Barajas (D), Hispanic who has had experience running for the Congress in the past.
La Prensa will be following the races once they get into full gear. The Primary will be on March 7, 2000.
Latino voters from California, Texas, New York, and Florida account for 144 of the 270 electoral votes needed to win the White House. In those states they have the numbers to control how the democratic vote goes.
Que esta pasando … the hot palabra is that El Caudillo de Cuba, Fidel Castro supported the creation of two Puerto Rican nationalists groups known as the FALN and Los Macheteros in Puerto Rico during the 1980's. These groups were part of the group that President Clinton recently freed from prison to help La Señora Clinton's campaign in New York!
Mas, de Puerto Rico: Rise in Puerto Rican nationalism has Pro-State folks worried that it may doom their chances of making Puerto Rico the 51st State. Chale, if the working class in Puerto Rico sees their chances dimming they will go for the Status Quo. They like the goodies they get from the U.S.A. They see what has happened in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Jamaica!! Boriquas may be poor but they are not pendejos!
Tidbit from the READER that confirms what we all know: Circulation of the UNION is way down! Worse yet, since making Karin Winner its editor, standing among its' peers has plummeted. The Union wasn't even listed among the top 118 media in the U.S.! It failed to make the listing of the top 21 papers in the country! It couldn't get a single editor from around the country to recognize it. Amongst us paper types, we have recognized the fact that their editorial department is poor, its reporting is bad, and it fails to do its principle job of "reporting all the news that's fit to print", Too often the Union has been noting but a shill for the establishment rather than investigating and reporting all the facts!

Rick Dovalina, head of National LULAC is heading for Memphis, Tenn. He is outraged that a school, that was to be used by Latino immigrant children, was torched by Tennessee racists. He will be asking for an investigation by the local officials in Memphis. 100,000 Latinos live in that city!
