Korean War Medal of Honor recipient Rodolfo P. Hernandez, a former Army corporal, wears a bike helmet to protect his head after having surgery. He has had two metal plants in head since the war.
All other Latinos that were recipients of the "Medal of Honor" since the Civil War, have passed away. On this Veterans Day we pause to pray for all those Latinos, Hispanos Mexican Americans and all veterans regardless of color, race or ethnicity for making the supreme sacrifice for our country. For those heroes that are still amongst us May The good Lord bring you tranquillity and keep you with us longer as a living symbol that when your country needed you You were not found lacking in courage and loyalty to your country in her hour of need.
