Dedicated Walkers Will Walk for Children, for Families and for Hope!

Walkers from across the United States, Canada and Tijuana will walk from Los Angeles to Tijuana in the Annual Los Niños Walk, June 20-27, 1999. The eight-day, 160 mile trek brings together all ages to raise awareness, and support for programs that give children and families living along the US/Mexico border the opportunity have a better life.

The Walk begins in Woodland Hills, and follows South to Tijuana, Mexico, where everyone will celebrate the long event with a Mariachi Fiesta at Viva Tijuana Shopping Plaza. Walkers can walk for one day, two days or all eight days, and can join anywhere along the route. Lodging and meals are provided along the route by generous churches and community groups.

For registration information, call (619) 426-9110

The proceeds from the event benefit Los Niños programs that address poverty and food security along the US/Mexico border by providing educational and community development programs for residents and US volunteers, to step out of their homes and into their communities. Los Niños teaches participants they are their own best resource in identifying and addressing issues concerning their lives. Through nutrition and gardening programs, micro enterprise projects and construction projects, Los Niños motivates children, women and volunteers to change the world in which they live.
