TEZOZOMOC SPEAKS

K-Love-102.9, the station with mellow and sweet sounds visited La Prensa offices and serenaded the staff! Estuvo a todo dar! Las Chamaconas went canicas with the DJ-Locutor Luis Barton! Ni modo! Us, pobres Chicanos can't compete with sweet songs, T-Shirts, pan dulce y besitos para las chamacas!

Word around Sacramento is "if you drink don't drive" specially at 2:30a.m.!!! Lame duck legislators don't have much palanca… as a certain some one found out... with the Placa.

Phone calls on this little borrachada going 100-1 against our asamblista! Que vergüenza!

In case you are wondering why we wrote up the Samoan wedding in Corona del Mar… Falakea Sami, the father, was educated at Madison High School which is in the Clairemont area... Sami was part of the super "Warhawk" team that won the only championship at the school. Sami and Dan Muñoz Jr. (sí, the editor of La Prensa) both were on the football team. All the names mentioned in the story were former members of the Madison Warhawk team... What a bunch of guys!

Hijole, que chuchos son los vatos of some of the barrios. They still doing what the vatos locos were doing 40 years ago… Forget it guys, the days of the pachucos are over. You can't win the war with fileros or cuetes… Try using your brains. No sean bueyes! Remember you're now adults at 14!

Orale Maestros... Get a copy of Harvest of Empire; A History of Latinos in America; written by Juan Gonzalez, former founder of the "Young Lords" (Puerto Rican 60's gang). This is one book that should be in every classroom in America!

Pues ya estuvo... Time to go home to La Viejita!... Chao!
