As a homeowner in Chula Vista, I encourage the citizens of Chula Vista to contact Mayor Shirley Horton, and the members of the City Council, to voice your opposition to the expansion of the Brown Field Airport.
If this is approved, airplanes will be allowed to land night and day. As many as 57 flights per hour! Our homes were not made to tolerate airport noise!

Doing Good Brings Recognition!
We are eighth grade Language Arts teachers at La Presa Middle School in the Spring Valley area. Frequently, teenagers in this neighborhood Our students have made a remarkable contribution to the community that deserves public recognition. We have been studying WWII, the Holocaust, and the Diary of Anne Frank.
To give our students a better understanding of how many Jews were killed, we challenged them to collect 6 million pennies! Though we did not meet our original goal, the students decided to give the $500 they collected in pennies to the Make A Wish Foundation. We were very impressed with their willingness to participate in such a salutary endeavor
As a reward they will meet Mr. David Faber, Holocaust survivor and author of Because of Romek!

(Comment: We understand most of these students are economically deprived and some took every penny out of their piggy bank to reach their goal. Donating 50,000 pennies is not enchiladas! They are to be congratulated! There is good in every child. You just have to look for it sometimes. Of course it helps to have dedicated teachers like both of you.)
We Have Lost Our Census!
Bureaucrats have had 10 years to plan and prepare for counting people living in geographical areas as defined by the U.S. Constitution. In their zeal to justify their high-paying jobs and gain additional funding, they have managed to expand their power-base while their agency burgeons.
Freedom loving Americans are unwilling to answer questions that probe into private matters.
In retrospect, I feel it my patriotic duty to provide an accurate count of the people living in my home Answering any other more probing questions is not in the best interest of liberty nor of our guaranteed right to privacy.

(Comment: Government is getting more and more intrusive. Statements that all the information is confidential is bogus. Once in the government computer files, any two-bit hacker can get to them.)
