Andres Verjan, Media Director of Oster & Associates advertising agency has been promoted to General Manager it has been announced by president Beverly Oster.
As General Manager, Verjan will direct all of the agency's internal operations, and oversee the production of all client projects from concept to completion. This is in addition to his current role of major media buying and production management for all company accounts.
Verjan has been working with Oster & Associates full-time for five years. He began with new client development and account services. He then took on media buying and succeeded to the media director and production manager. He has had hands-on experience in various positions in the company, making this transition a natural step forward for him and the agency.
Born and raised in Mexico, Verjan is bilingual in English and Spanish, and bi-cultural. He has used this to his advantage by establishing a niche in international marketing. Verjan works closely with clients and media on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. Some of the most successful advertising and promotional campaigns under his direction include work for the Roberts Irrigation, AgSup-ply, The California Tomato Commission, The California Strawberry Commission and The Secretary of Tourism-Baja California.
A graduate of San Diego State University, Verjan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing. His professional background straddles both sides of the border. Prior to joining Oster & Associates Verjan worked as an account executive for XHAS-TV, a Spanish language television station in San Diego and as a sales manager for Quetzal Bilingual Communications, a network of Spanish-language radio stations in Lompoc, Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo.
Verjan's easy going style and sense of humor continuously helps him cultivate outstanding relationships with major publishers,, growers, investors, wholesalers, retailers and crop association officials in the U.S. and a abroad.
Oster & Associates, a full-service agency located in Sorrento Mesa, was founded by Bev Oster in 1986. Major areas of concentration include agricultural products, horticulture, tourism, financial services, and retail. Current clients include Proven Winners, a marketing cooperative of producers of young plants, AgSupply, Miramar Wholesale Nurseries, California Strawberry Commission, and Rancho Santa Fe National Bank.
