Hoboken, NJ Latingirl magazine wants to help young Latinas achieve scholarly dreams. With a mission to empower girls by offering information and providing resources that will move young Latinas toward a brighter future, Latingirl magazine announces its second annual Latingirl Scholarship.
"College is extremely expensive and we here at Latingirl magazine are trying to do more than just offer motivation and resources from the pages of our magazine," says publisher Bill Ryan, "we are providing support to the fastest growing teen segment in the U.S."
Ten winners will be awarded $1000 in scholarship money. Application deadline is April 15th. To be eligible, applicant must be of Hispanic descent, female and a graduating senior in high school. Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, financial need and a 300 word essay containing background information and potential contributions to the Hispanic community.
