Peter Q. Davis (former chair of the CCDC), who now wants to be the next mayor, will be "Roasted and Toasted," June 30. The event will be hosted (paid for) by the Bank of Commerce and the Centre City Development Corporation (CCDC), a publicly-funded non-profit agency. The fun begins at this so-call Roast Fun(d) raiser at 7:15p.m.! Among the (celebrity) RoastMasters are San Diego Mayor, Susan Golding, Lucy Killea, Mike Mcdade, George Mitrovich, Ed Lopez, Judge Larry Burns, John Johnson, the Rev. Amanda Rutherford. Providing the humor will be Roger Hedgecock, who has a lot of experience being humorous at our expense. Oh yes, Honorary Co Chair John Moores will be there to protect his baseball interests. Hope the public is amused.
La palabra around El Pueblo San Diego... "Is there anyone really interested in the "Mayor Golding or John Moores" Pipe dream of building the Padre ballfield downtown anymore??? It was a loser to begin with and the stench gets worse around the whole deal. Wise up folks city and dump this white elephant along with Susan Golding.
Governor George W. Bush (R) is in New Mexico with Colin McMillian, Sen. Pete Domenici, Reps. Heather Wilson, and Joe Sheen to do a little bit of exploring i.e. "testing the New Mexican waters to see if those Hispanics are as gullible as the Texan cowboys (Caballeros).
Que gusto that some of our Homies are making dinero... Here I thought all along that there was no chamba in San Diego. Some of the local Homies thinking to strike it big included: Marco Alatorre-Ibarra, Mayla Villa-nueva, from Chula Vista, Ruben Alvarez, Alfonso Lugo Valenzuela, Juan Manuel Cortes Aguilar, Raymond Frank Sigler, Federick Villanueva Magal-lon, & Liz Aurora Diaz, all from San Diego. Only problema, they were trying to get rich smuggling 7 (siete) tons of marijuana! They got caught!
Candidate Dan Quayle (R) is in Iowa campaigning for the "potatoe" Vote! Señor Quayle wants to return us all back to the "values that made us strong"?? It would be quite a kicker to have Dan Quayle, former Vice President to former President George Bush, become a hot potato, catch fire, and win the bid for the Vice Presidency under George W. Bush!
The State's First Lady, La Señora Davis, will return to her Alma Mater at Santana High School in Santee to deliver the 34th commencement address for the 1999 graduating class. Seems Santee has some kind of reputation for being quite racist according to the ONION (U.T.) . Interesting don't you think?
Tezzy speaks out for our Filipino Compadres: WWII Filipino Vets who have long been denied military benefits are being offered a dubious handout by our Congress. "If they leave the U.S. and go back to the Philippines, our gracious government will pay the 75% of their monthly SSI benefits (not to exceed $380 a month.)... Hell of a way to pay back all those WWII Filipino veterans who fought alongside General Mac-Arthur. Relocate back to the Philippines where they can starve out of sight and out of mind!! HR1802 belongs in the "ang kasilyas"!
