When the third quadrennial Women's World Cup kicks off tomorrow from New Jersey's Giants Stadium, local viewers will be joining millions worldwide to witness the largest exclusively women's sporting event ever organized. Both games of tomorrows double header (televised on ABC and ESPN respectively) will have local implications. Chula Vista's Linnea Quinones (SDSU, Bonita Vista High), will be one of the eight American players capitalizing on their dual Mexican citizenship to represent Mexico. Quinones will open in the goal for Mexico as they battle highly regarded Brazil. Escondido's `96 Olympic heroine, Shannon MacMillan (San Pasqual High) is likely to come off the bench as either a forward or a midfielder for the United States in their game against Denmark.
