artist Gloria Estefan's latest Spanish-language album "Alma
Caribeña" released May 22 is topping the charts around
the world. The album's first single "No Me Dejes de Querer"
is at the no.1 radio airplay chart position on the Billboard Hot
Latin Charts, and the album debuted at no.1 on the Soundscan Latin
Sales Chart for the United States and Puerto Rico.
"Alma Caribeña" is also achieving impressive results in many markets throughout the world. This week the Album is no.1 in Spain, no.11 in Italy, no.11 in Portugal, no.9 in Switzerland, no.33 in Germany, no.44 in the United Kingdom. Chart positions from Latin America will be released this week.
"Alma Caribeña" is Gloria's first Spanish-language album in five years. Her previous Spanish albums "Mi Tierra" and "Abriendo Puertas" were both GRAMMY winning albums. "Alma Caribena" incorporates the rhythms and cultures of the Caribbean nations that have left their imprint in today's Spanish speaking world, such as the New York salsa influenced by such countries as Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Panama.
