Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC) has appointed Richard Jennings as lead executive of the Pennant Alliance, an alliance of local companies pursuing the County of San Diego information technology (IT) outsourcing opportunity. Replacing Jennings as vice president of CSC's Technology Group's Western Region in San Diego is Scott Sharpe. Both appointments were announced by Van B. Honeycutt, CSC president, chairman and CEO.
CSC is the lead company in the Pennant Alliance which includes SAIC, Pacific Bell and Lucent Technologies. Collectively, the Pennant Alliance companies employ more than 10,000 telecommunications and information technology professionals in the San Diego area.

Jennings joined CSC from the General Dynamics Corporation when CSC was awarded a $3 billion out-sourcing contract in 1991, at the time the largest IT outsourcing contract ever awarded. In addition to heading the company's Western Region from offices on Kerny Villa Road, Jennings has served as vice president of the company's computer desktop and distributed systems line of service, center director of the Western Region, and account executive for the General Dynamics Space Systems Division account.
Jennings holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas and a masters degree in management from Stanford University.
Sharpe is a 30-year veteran of CSC and assumes his new post after serving in London, U.K., as vice president of the Pinnacle Alliance, a CSC-led alliance providing global IT outsourcing services to the J.P. Morgan banking corporation. He has extensive operations and business management experience in addition to serving as CSC's corporate vice president of Human Resources from August 1978 until September 1996.
The Pennant Alliance was announced in early February to satisfy the technology requirements of the County of San Diego. The Alliance has a proven record of success and is dedicated to assisting the County in improving services, controlling costs and achieving a virtual government which runs like a business.
