The Arizona State Champions got off to a quick lead by defeating the Boxers For Christ Champions Ray Martinez of Arizona proved to be too strong for the slick Edgar Sandoval in the 132 lbs. category. Mario Ramos dealt Ernest Johnson a rare loss in a very close contest in the 139 lbs., category. The Boxers For Christ Team came back with two victories of their own when James Parison defeated Pete Gilmore of Arizona with quick hands and sharp combinations in the 156 lbs., boxing event. Vince Parra wore down Francisco Vasquez from Arizona with a strong inside attack that featured punishing blows to the body and head of Vasquez. However Arizona won the dual competition in the last bout of the evening that Featured Vernon Rose former All Navy Champions against George Garcia of Arizona. The shorter Garcia kept the pressure on the taller and seemingly faster Rose and by the third round had Rose tired, and gave the team championship to Arizona.

Both Espinoza and David are members of the Boxers For Christ National Team and will be featured against the All Army and All Marine Boxing Teams.
