Bill Silva Presents, in collaboration with San Diego Council on Literacy and Pacific Bell, unveiled a program supporting the Council's campaign to raise awareness of the importance of libraries and literacy. Titled "Rock `n' Read."
"Both music and books are the keys to understanding our society today," said Bill Silva, president, Bill Silva Presents. "With our concerts reaching a large and varied audience, we are excited to help the San Diego Council on Literacy raise awareness of local libraries."
The Rock `n' Read program will offer monthly prize drawings of concert souvenirs/tickets, library displays and an information booth at select San Diego-area concert venues including the San Diego State Univer-sity's Open Air Theatre and Cox Arena. Entry forms for the monthly prize drawings and concert schedules will be available at city and county libraries.
"We are pleased that Bill Silva Presents has joined our campaign," said Jose Cruz, executive director, San Diego Council on Literacy. "Our goal is to educate residents on the abundance of materials, services and programs available through their neighborhoods libraries. Rock `n' Read is a great way for San Diegans to have fun while learning how they can become more involved."
