Celebran los Oaxaqueños Su Cuarta Fiesta Tradicional “La Guelaguetza” En San Marcos

Por cuarto año consecutivo la comunidad oaxaqueña de San Diego hace presente su cultura y tradiciones con su fiesta anual de la “Guelaguetza”, que se llevará a cabo el próximo domingo 27 de Julio en las instalaciones de la Universidad Estatal de San Marcos.

Este evento familiar es una de las costumbres más arraigadas del pueblo oaxaqueño, que orgulloso de su cultura y tradiciones muestran al mundo su espíritu de amor a su tierra y hermandad entre su pueblo. Este evento familiar es el festejo más importante para el estado mexicano de Oaxaca, que por siglos organiza este evento en el mes de julio, donde los pobladores de las siete regiones con sus 23 grupos indígenas se unen para compartir sus triunfos, esfuerzos, tradiciones, orgullo y amor a su tierra.

La costumbre de “La Guelaguetza” (conocida como “go’ozona’”) es una antigua tradición entre los pueblos indigenas de Oaxaca. La palabra Guelaguetza tiene su orígen en el dialecto zapoteco que significa “El Ofrecimiento, la Ofrenda o el Ofertorio”. Antigüamente era la fiesta para agradecer el tiempo de las cosechas que cada año cada tribu indígena que conformaban la región del Istmo se unían en el poblado central, para llevar sus ofrendas y regalar lo que los dioses les habían obsequiado y lo que por sus esfuerzos habían logrado y que por tradición debían convidar a los demás, para a cambio recibir bendiciones recíprocas con aquello que les faltaba o necesitaban.

UCLA’s June 2003 study, titled “Prime Time in Black and White,” describes how mainstream media has been slow to include Latino filmmakers, their stories and voices in the development of programming in America.
