What is the future of Chula Vista?

The City is embarking on an exciting project to update the General Plan, which will provide direction for Chula Vista’s future over the next 20 years. The General Plan will guide decisions and actions on growth, development, facilities, services, and other issues that affect the quality of life in our community. An important part of this process is your input and participation to create a shared vision of the ideal community in which we want to live, work, and play.

You tell us!

Give us your input on Thursday, July 25 at 7 p.m. in Room 2 of the Public Services Building at the Civic Center, 276 Fourth Avenue at the corner of F Street. For information, call (619) 409-5486. Community meetings have been scheduled to give the public an opportunity to raise issues and concerns that should be addressed as the City proceeds with its General Plan update. The next public meetings are:

* August 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Eastlake Greens Clubhouse, 2405 Clubhouse Drive

* August 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bonita Sunnyside Fire Station, 4900 Bonita Road

Border View YMCA Will Provide Scholarships to Help Send Kids to Camp

Border View YMCA is offering full and partial scholarships to qualified individuals and families in order to send youth ages 5-12 to YMCA day camps.

The Border View YMCA has up to $8,500 dollars in financial aid available for individuals and families who reside in the South San Diego communities including Imperial Beach, San Ysidro, Otay Mesa, Nestor, and Palm City. The Border View YMCA Day Camp program will run weekly through August 30, 2002. To sign up, please call or visit the Border View YMCA.

Free Workshop to be Held “Secrets of Multimedia Marketing”

The San Diego Public Library is hosting a FREE workshop entitled “Secrets of Multimedia Marketing.” Topics will include branding, utilizing media, building media relationships, and marketing, including video and Internet. The speakers are Andrea Patterson, CEO of LookLogic, a website development company, and Tony Vignieri of Vignieri Communications, a video production and media consulting company.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the third floor auditorium of the Central Library, located at 820 E St., downtown.
