Hate Crimes and European-Americans

Raoul Lowery Contreras

Two young "White" men attack, beat and kick to death a Mexican gardener in Lakeside, California while screaming "wetback", "F*****g Mexican" and dump his body into a drainage ditch. They take $10.00 from the victim's wallet. Robbery or "Hate Crime."

Two young Black men ride their bikes in Oceanside, California, while a carload of four young "White men" drive by screaming racial slurs. They pull over, arm themselves with knives and jump out of the car screaming "N*****s", then attack the two bicyclists. Just a youthful prank, or a "Hate Crime?"

A drunken "White" woman has sex with half-a-dozen "White" beer bar patrons on the bar's pool table in Alpine, California, then goes home and tells her husband that a dozen Mexican "wetbacks" raped her. He calls his "White" friends and associates, arms them with baseball bats and tire irons and they rush to a migrant worker encampment and viciously attack sleeping migrant workers screaming "wetbacks", sending them to intensive care wards.

A "White" roller skater skates on the Boardwalk at San Diego, California's Mission Beach and is attacked by a group of young Black males, who beat the man senseless while they scream "Honkie bastard." A Sunday afternoon picnic, or a "Hate Crime?"

All these crimes were witnessed by others. They are charged as hate crimes under California law. They are Hate Crimes. One would expect that most reasonable people would agree that these were hate crimes motivated by racial or ethnic hate. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the 8,000-plus "hate crimes" reported in the country last year, over 4,000 were racially motivated.

Hate Crimes are defined as a crime that is racially, ethnically, religiously or sexually based in motivation. Hate crimes are charged over and above an underlying crime such as assault and battery, manslaughter, murder, etc. Hate crimes are in place throughout most of the country, despite objections from some elements of society.

As a rule, these elements call themselves "European-Americans", though they generally limit their national parameter countries to Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium (Protestant portion). Among "European-Americans" one will find, from time to time an Italian-origin or French-origin person, but not usually as "European-Americans" are usually Protestant. Catholics and Jews need not apply.

It is from this sector that generally produces arguments that "hate crimes" are discriminatory by their very nature, discriminatory towards the perpetrators of most "hate crimes", White Anglo-Saxon Protestants, WASPs. These people argue that it is, in fact, Whites who are being minimized and that minorities are being given special treatment and benefits.

They complain that Whites are the only ones charged with "hate crimes." That is false. They charge that "Hispanics" are defined as victims, but not as perpetrators. This is a false statement. Different police jurisdictions use various nomenclature for Hispanics, including, but not limited to Mexicans, Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans, Hispanics, Latinos, etc., etc. On top of all that, Hispanics may be of any race. With so much confusion at the local level and with so many jurisdictions involved, it is easier to label victims than perpetrators. Further, very few Hispanics commit "hate crimes", very, very few.

In fact, there is only one "hate crime" alleged to have been committed by a "Hispanic" in Los Angeles in recent times. Specifically, a White Jewish school principal charges he was attacked by two assailants outside his San Fernando Valley elementary school. He says that one of the two attackers was a "Hispanic" and that the attacker cursed him, yelling "We don't want any White principals." The attacker allegedly screamed this while beating the principal. There were no witnesses.

And one wonders why an alleged "skinhead Hispanic" would (1) team up with someone not "Hispanic" to attack a school principal; or, (2) why the assailant would use words like "White" when, in real life, the alleged attacker would probably use the word "gringo" instead of "white."

There is huge doubt that the incident happened as described by the school principal. Nonetheless, the "European American" activists have made a big deal of this "attack" and use it to attack Hispanics, Americans and immigrants alike. Yet, they can't even prove the incident occurred. There were no witnesses.

Hate crimes, then, are real, they happen and they happen all over the country. Every day that passes sees about a dozen such crimes occur on the basis of someone's religion, skin color or ethnicity. These crimes are usually perpetrated by ex-convict White men. Middle-class suburban whites are also involved from time to time.

In the Oceanside incident of the assault on two Black bicyclists, the men arrested were Robert Coats, 33, of Orange County and Richard Bierd, 20, of Vista, a town in North San Diego. Since he was 18, Coats has served five different terms in prison and will serve life without parole if convicted. Bierd is eligible for 16-years in prison and maybe more if charged with attempted murder.

"European-Americans" will undoubtedly come to the aid of Coats and Bierd because they are white, despite their criminal backgrounds. "Whites", you see, can do no wrong in the eyes of "European-Americans." In fact, in the Alpine incident, a radical anti-Mexican group actually offered a reward for information leading to the alleged Hispanic migrant worker rapists. No rape took place, but they offered the reward anyway.

Surprise.
