Cal State San Marcos helps "College: Making It Happen!" Program

California State University San Marcos will help parents of future students understand the college application process as part of the state's College Awareness Month in February. Seven "College: Making It Happen!" evening sessions are scheduled throughout the Cal State San Marcos service area.

The meetings are intended primarily for students in grades six through nine and their parents, providing easy-to-understand information on getting ready academically and financially for college. CSUSM representatives will join their counterparts from other county universities in presenting a variety of practical tips on how to prepare for college. They will show a video, answer questions, and provide pamphlets and other written material. The meetings will be conducted in both English and Spanish.

The February schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, February 2, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Shivela Middle School in Murrieta.

Tuesday, February 9, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.: San Marcos Middle School in San Marcos.
