The La Mesa Human Relations Commission in conjunction with the Heartland Human Relations & Fair Housing Association is putting on its third annual Kingfest for the East County Region.
Ken Kramer and Ninette Sosa will be co-MCs. Featured speakers will include Mayor Art Madrid (La Mesa), Mark Lewis (El Cajon), Mary Sessom (Lemon Grove) and Jack Dale (Santee) who will give brief speeches highlighting the experience they felt most influenced them as they were growing up.
Music, dance and art will be provided the St. Stephen's Youth Choir, the Spring Valley Drill Team, Laura Preble, Ballard Monger and Jean's Dance Studio.
Come join in celebrating Martin Luther King's vision of an America where people are judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin on Sunday, January 17, 1999 from 6:30 to 9:00 at The La Mesa Community Center, 4975 Memorial Drive, La Mesa. Free.
