Supervisor Greg Cox is issuing public notice that a vacancy exists on the Board of Directors of the Lower Sweetwater Fire Protection District. Because the three-member Board currently has only one member, less than a quorum remains. Therefore the San Diego County Board of Supervisors will make an appointment to fill one vacancy.
Any member of the public living within the Lower Sweetwater Fire Protection District is eligible to become a member of the Board of Directors. Interested residents can contact the office of County Supervisor Greg Cox to receive an application form at (619) 531-5511.
In order to be considered, applications must be received by January 23, 2006. Residents can submit an application to the following address: The Honorable Greg Cox, Supervisor First District, County of San Diego, 1600 Pacific Highway, Room 335, San Diego, CA 92101.
The Lower Sweetwater Fire Protection District serves an unincorporated island surrounded by the cities of National City and Chula Vista. While the District maintains its own administration, it provides fire suppression, emergency medical and rescue services by contract with the City of National City. The District’s territory lies wholly within the National City paramedic service area for emergency medical care.
