The Museum, California Center for
the Arts, Escondido announces the selection of its new Exhibitions
Assistant, Rudy Sanchez. As the Exhibitions Assistant, Sánchez
assists in selecting and coordinating exhibitions. He is currently
working on the upcoming Sites Unseen- Shimon Attie: Photographs
and Public Projects, 1992-1998 which opens Feb. 13, 2000, and
The Next Wave: New Painting in Southern California" opening
June 4, 2000.
Sánchez is originally from Los Angeles, and had been on the staff of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston for two years as a Curatorial Secretary of the Film and Video Departments. Sánchez attended Humbolt State University in California and studied studio art at the Glassell School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas.
Sánchez has been involved in many professional activities including contributor for Artlies, a Texas art journal. Sánchez is also an artist, primarily working in sculpture installation and video. He has exhibited in Northern California and in Houston, Texas at the Midtown Art Center.
"I'm very happy to be back in Southern California to be part of this exciting interdisciplinary art center. I'm looking forward to contributing to the mission of the Museum and The Center," said Sánchez.
