National Search to Award College Scholarships to the Country's Best Young Entrepreneurs

A nationwide search is on for the country's most promising young entrepreneurs through an in-school program called A Chance to Advance: The Monopoly Game at McDonalds. In celebration of McDonald's annual in-store Monopoly promotion, McDonald's and Hasbro, in partnership with Junior Achievement Inc., will award a total of $75,000 in college scholarships—including a $50,000 scholarship to one Grand Prize winner — to promising students with entrepreneurial talent.

All young entrepreneurs in grades 6 through 12, and no more than 18 years of age, who have run or are currently running established businesses or not-for-profit organizations are eligible to participate. Students can obtain an official entry form on the McDonald's or Junior Achievement web sites at www.mcdonalds.com or www.ja.org, and through schools affiliated with Junior Achievement. The entry deadline is February 26, 1999.

In addition to the $50,000 Grand Prize winner, four finalists will each receive $5,000 college scholarships and 10 semi-finalists will be awarded $500 college scholarships.
