Rachel's 15th Anniversary

Mark your calendars and join us for an anniversary party on Monday, February 8, 1999, at the U.S. Grant Hotel from 6-9 p.m. We are very proud of our accomplishments and couldn't have done it without your support over the years. We ask for a $50 donation. Rachel's Women's Center - Rachel's Night Center is located at 759 Eighth Avenue in San Diego. With the help of many wonderful donors we are capable of helping homeless women with coffee, clothes, furniture, etc. Rachel's Night Shelter new focus is to provide a safe, sober and supportive environment for older women (over 50) who are in economic and personal transition in their lives.

What is now known as the Homeless Women's Services Department of Catholic Charities began 18 years ago with one program, the House of Rachel. We are proud to announce this new vision of our oldest program. It keeps the mission of the Department alive as the Rachel's Programs continue to see the needs of homeless women and adapt to meet that need.

The Women's Bean Project opened in 1994. Your purchase assists homeless and low-income women obtain job-readiness skills. The 7 "from scratch" soup mixes are assembled, packaged, and sold by the women as a part of their training. All proceeds from sales are reinvested in the Project.
