HBO's Fiery Late-Night Boxing Series Celebrates Its Fourth Anniversary When HBO Boxing After Dark: Eric Morales vs. Marco Antonio Barrera

HBO Sports' popular late-night boxing series continues to showcase the brightest talents of the sweet science, presenting an emerging superstar when HBO Boxing After Dark: Eric Morales vs. Marco Antonio Barrera airs Saturday, February 19 (11:00 p.m. live ET/tape-delay PT), from the Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas. The HBO en Español broadcast team will call the action for the fight.

Four years ago (February 3, 1996) the inaugural edition of HBO Boxing After Dark presented Marco Antonio Barrera's dramatic 12th-round KO of Kennedy McKinney, marking an instant success for the series. Since losing consecutive fights to Junior Jones, Barrera (49-2, 36 KOs) has registered six straight wins and is now vying for another world title. On this night, however, he will face perhaps the biggest test of his career in fellow countryman Eric "El Terrible" Morales (35-0, 28 KOs) of Mexico.

Morales deploys an arsenal of talents that have served him well throughout his undefeated career. Last seen on HBO in October, he scored heavily in a decision over tough challenger Wayne McCullough to defend his world super bantamweight title. Proving that he'll take on all comers, Morales will gamble his world super bantamweight belt for the ninth time against the tough Barrera in hopes of climbing even further up the ranks as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
