Columbia Records' website will
now offer broadband programming, in conjunction with the launch
of Microsoft Corp.'s Windows Media Broadband Guide, and distributed
by iBEAM. The CVP Music Video Network and the 1999 Online Concert
Series will now be available in both narrow and broadband streams,
at 28.8k, 56k, 100k and 300k. Broadband access can be reached
directly at www.columbiarecords.com/broadband.
The CVP Music Video Network is Columbia Records' popular online
video channel. Offerings include full-length videos from Columbia
artists such as Mariah Carey, Ricky Martin, The Offspring, and
Will Smith.
The 1999 Columbia Records Online Holiday Concert Series is also under way, celebrating the holidays with the best in live music. Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from now until December 30 at 10pm EST, fans can tune into Columbia's Live Online Concerts to check out performances from their favorite artists. The Broadband Guide is part of the Windows Media Broadband Jumpstart Initiative (www.windowsmedia.com/broadband/), an industry-wide effort to provide high-quality content to encourage consumer adoption of broadband.
