Squirrels hardly come to mind when thinking about water recreation, but that will change as the 2000 San Diego Boat Show drops anchor at the San Diego Convention Center and Marriott Marina Jan. 6, 2000. Twiggy, the water skiing squirrel makes her West Coast debut at this year's San Diego Boat Show.
In addition to Twiggy, the San Diego Boat Show, which runs through Sunday, Jan. 9, also features the latest marine industry gear, from powerboats to personal watercraft, as well as educational seminars covering boating, fishing and other water-based activities.
The San Diego Boat Show has pulled out all the stops in order to make the first trade show of the new millennium at the Convention Center the best yet.
"This year, the San Diego Boat Show has assembled the largest array of boats and boating accessories in San Diego history," said Show Manager Jeff Hancock. "We really want to give San Diegans a first hand look at the great wealth of new products and lines boat manufacturers have created for the 21st century and beyond."
Exhibitor space both in the Convention Center and Marriott Marina has been sold out to the industry's top manufacturers and dealers. Must-see new products and lines include the West Coast debut of Sail California's J-46, the ultimate racer/cruiser, and an array of yachts ranging in size from 20- to 83-feet. Additionally, outdoor water-sport fans will enjoy the latest in wake boarding, scuba, sea kayaking, personal watercrafts and sports accessories.
