The exhibition offers a unique artistic interpretation of the chain of 21 early California Franciscan missions.

The Society is the first venue to publicly present this collection. Colored by his eclectic interests, his depictions of some of the most treasured historical sites provide a fascinating glimpse of the monk, man, artist and teacher. A Benedictine monk by vocation, Father Jerome Tupa is perhaps the modern day incarnation of a Renaissance man. A professor of French at St. John's Abbey/University in Collegeville, Minnesota having attained his Ph.D. in French Literature from the University of Paris, Father Tupa has also chosen to express his spiritual devotion through his art, which he does in an eloquent, engaging style.
