Crime Stoppers is assisting The Oceanside Police Department's Homicide Unit to help solve the murder of an unidentified Hispanic woman.
On Wednesday, August 11, 1999, at about 7:45 a.m., a man was walking by a drainage ditch at Airport & Benet Road in Oceanside. He discovered the body of an unidentified Hispanic woman lying in the drainage ditch. The man flagged down a passing tow truck driver for help. The tow truck driver stopped and radioed in a call for help to the police. Oceanside Police Officers arrived and determined the woman was deceased. Police now had a murder investigation on their hands. The medical examiner has determined the woman suffered trauma to her head which appeared to be cause by a sharp weighted object.
To date, this woman has not been identified nor have any suspects been arrested in this murder case.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for this woman's murder. Anyone with information on the identity of this woman or this murder is asked to call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tipline at (619) 235-TIPS.
