Volunteers will be needed for the Bank of America/U.S. Olympic Cup from September 9-12 in San Diego. This inaugural event will feature some of America's finest athletes competing against the best in the world in five selected sports: men's and women's beach volleyball, men's and women's swimming, women's softball, and men's boxing. The format for the event will be "USA vs. the World" and will involve 336 athletes and a total delegation exceeding 490. Volunteer opportunities are available at all five venues between September 7th and September 12th.
Currently volunteer positions are available in transportation and VIP hospitality. Volunteers drivers must complete an application and posses a valid California driver's license. Hospitality volunteers will be responsible for meeting and greeting VIP's, checking credentials, and supervising VIP seating. All volunteers should posses strong people skills and an interest in sports. Volunteer orientation will begin September 1, 1999 at 6:00 p.m. at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.
