By Daniel Muñoz

GOP Presidential Candidate George W. Bush announced had a meeting with Hispanic leaders in West Des Moines, Iowa in an effort to shore up support from the Hispanic-Latino-Mexican American voters. The meeting was seen as trying to do damage control to cover the numerous missteps his campaign has made vis-a-vis this segment of the voting population. Senator Loretta Sanchez let it be known that Bush was a no-show at Hispanic events because his campaign felt that they didn't contribute money to his campaign and their low numbers in the GOP Primary.

La Opinion and the L.A. Times (majority stock holder of La Opinion have agreed the La Opinion will have the L.A. Times as an insert in its circulation. "Our editorial integrity will be maintained. Our voice will not be influence anyway," said Monica Lozano, Executive Director... Prelude to Presidential elections??? Who will eat whom (The Lion [L.A. Times] or the Pussy cat [La Opinion])?

The Manila Times has gone bankrupt since President Joseph Estrada muzzled the paper because he didn't like what it said about him! He seemed to like the hype they wrote about him when he was a movie star.

The City of San Diego is being asked to end public subsidies of the Boy Scouts as long as they discriminate, on the basis of religion and sexual orientation. Mayor Golding and the City Council provide, for $1 per year, land in Balboa Park, which is city owned!

PREGUNTA: Why is the city allowed to continue subsidizing the Greater San Diego Chamber of Commerce, from the city's general fund? Their use of public funds for their partisan political agenda is outrageous. The ACLU should stop wasting its time on the Boy Scouts and look at the insidious relationship between the Chamber and City Hall! (Would have asked the County Grand Jury to investigate but the Mayor and the County District Attorney, in another cozy arrangement managed to destroy the Grand Jury, for all intent and purposes in this County.)

Dwayne Cranshaw seems to be the front politico in raising money to run for the 79th Assembly District (Denise Ducheny is being termed-limted out). He has raised $32,000 thus far. Dwayne is a school, teacher.
