Street Scene in San Diego

** Featuring Jack Johnson, The Foo Fighters, Ludacris, and The Marley Family, for Street Scene’s 20th Anniversary celebration on August 27th and 28th next to downtown San Diego’s Petco Park in the Ballpark District & East Village.

A limited number of two-day tickets are now on sale at all Ticketmaster locations for the incredibly low price of $55! These specially priced tickets are expected to sell quickly, so we encourage folks to move fast. In addition, single day tickets will be available.

McDonald’s® Celebra los 25 Años de los Happy Meals con el Regreso de TY Teenie Beanie

** Los Happy Meals de McDonald’s® han cambia-do la forma en que las familias disfrutan el comer juntos afuera, y con el fin de celebrar este cuarto de siglo de pura diversión, McDo-nald’s está ofreciendo Ty Teenie Beanie Babies en sus Happy Meals desde el 23 de julio hasta el 19 de agosto. El Legado de Los Papas

** Desde el 15 de mayo al 6 de septiembre, el San Die-go Museum of Art hospeda más de 390 artefactos, docu-mentos y obras de arte prestados por el Vaticano, incluyendo ejemplos por Giotto, Michelangelo y Berni-ni. La exposición intitulada San Pedro y el Vaticano: El legado de los Papas, hace su última presentación en el San Diego Museum of Art después de una gira por los Estados Unidos. Los pisos, muros, puertas y sótano del Vaticano se han recreado a fin de trazar los dos mil años de la historia del papado, comenzando con San Pedro y culminando con el Papa Juan Pablo II. Recomen-damos que calcule por lo menos una hora y media para disfrutar su visita. Los pre-cios de entrada varían desde $18 para adultos hasta $9 para niños de 6-17, con descuentos especiales para personas de tercera edad, militares, estudiantes uni-versitarios y grupos de 15 personas o más. El museo esta localizado en 1450 El Prado, Balboa Park.

Afro-Cuban Song & Drum Classes

** Omo Ache Cuban Cultural Group presents Afro-Cuban song and drum classes at the World Beat Center, 2100 Park Blvd. Tuesdays 5:30-6:30 p.m. Song class taught by Alexis Zayas and 6:30-7:30 p.m. Drum class taught by Juan Carlos Blanco, both teachers are Master Artists from Havana Cuba formerly with “Racies Profundas”  Folkloric Company. Cost: $10 for a single class, $15 for both song & drum. Artists will focus on the sacred music of the Yoruba tradition for the month of August. Own a Piece of Music History From Top Artists

** The Music and Entertainment Industry Group for City of Hope presents a not-to-be-missed opportunity for music fans to own a piece of music history. The Songs of Hope auction, online August 4 through August 13 at will feature signed chart-topping sheet music and lyrics as well as one of a kind and limited edition music collectables. Proceeds from the auction will benefit City of Hope, a world-renowned research and treatment facility for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Annual Patio Sale at Spanish Village Art Center

** The Art Glass Guild, Studio 25, will be hosting its annual Patio Sale on Saturday, Aug. 7th from 10-4PM and Sunday, Aug. 8th from 10-4 p.m. All forms of Art Glass, including blown, fused, torch worked, stained glass, cast, etched, mosaic will be featured, in addition to demonstrations, entertainment and refreshments. The Patio Sale is located at Spanish Village Art Center in Balboa Park.

Rock ‘N’ Roll Friday Nights in Del Mar

** “Four O’Clock Fridays” will return to Del Mar as the highlight when the track presents its 43-day Thoroughbred season from July 21 to September 8.” Four O’Clock Fridays” features seven concerts following each Friday’s racing program. The music starts right after the racing ends, generally between 7 and 7:30 p.m. in the Plaza de Mexico, just inside the main gate.

The Rugburns is a San Diego based outfit that takes the spotlight on Aug. 6.

Peter Yorn and his band will make its third appearance on Aug. 13.

Jack Johnson label entitled Frankenreiter will perform Aug. 20.

Sextet Super Diamond with music of Neil Diamond comes to Del Mar on Aug. 27.

The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club will also present two Saturday afternoon concerts. The rock group Cake will be served during the Microbrew Festival Aug. 7 and reggae specialists Jimmy Cliff and Common Sense headlining the track’s first Reggae Festival Aug. 14.
