Come on Vatos, which one of you "educated" hombres going to run for Ducheny's seat??? You can't be any worse than she is! Malas noticias... El compañero Peter Schey who in the movement days fought side by side with us sucked LULAC into agreeing to "mediation" on the Pipa Wilson Prop 227. LULAC went along with Schey as well as the former righteous organizations: United Farm Workers of America, Allegiance for Immigrant Rights, Immigrant Legal Resource Center, Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law, Assemblywoman Denise Ducheny. That's what happens when we allow lawyers to do our political work for us. THEY SELL US OUT!
PREGUNTA... So what are you going to do about it gente??? You have been betrayed. Everyone on the list are lawyers except LULAC and UFW. These are people oriented groups that can't exist without la gente's support... SEND THEM A MESSAGE, MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE!!
Fax's to El Gift: "Chicanos in the California Youth Authority lockups, are labeled as uneducable and antisocial. Yet, they are graduating with a 3.5 GPA or better with AA and BA degrees in the CYA! Why is it that the CYA can educate our youth but the schools can't?? P.S.: The population in the CYA has gone up from 30% to 49% in the last 10 years. Maybe the kids know it's the only place they can get an education!
Another irate Faxer wants to know: "How many of the teen age killers were ever in the Scouts? (Last time I looked Scouts only teach how to use pocket knives and hatchets).
