Information on career opportunities, workshops on job preparations, and employers from more than 50 businesses are included in this year's Southwestern College Career Fair Week, April 19-23 on the college campus 900 Otay Lakes Road, in Chula Vista.
Designed to help students make career choices and develop their job search skills with 14 workshops to choose from, Southwestern's Career Fair Week is open to the public. Featured workshops include Creating a Winning Portfolio, Polishing Your Interview Skills, Dress for Success, Career Search Using the Internet, Careers in Probation, Corrections and parole, Careers in Psychology, Careers in Computers/Internet Technology, Teaming Behaviors/Collaborative Work-settings, Real Work Realities in the Job Market/Work Place, Occupational Outlook for the Year 2000, Dress for Success and Feminist Model of Mentoring.
Employer Information Day, Tuesday, April 20, followed by Criminal Justice, Fire Science, and Paramedic Career Day, Wednesday, April 21, will offer students the opportunity to network with businesses and organizations in their related field. The week will also offer two dynamic employer panels, consisting of prominent employers from private industry and government agencies. An all day event honoring National "Take Your Daughter To Work" day will be presented on Thursday, April 22.
