Free Business Start-Up Training Programs Offered

Southwestern College's Customized Training Office and the Small Business Development & International Trade Center are offering FREE community based, business startup training programs for laid-off, low-income or welfare-to-work individuals interested in starting their own business.

Programs are being funded by a federal grant from the Workforce Partnership and are designed to take individuals from business concept to business licensing in 6 to 8 weeks.

The next six-week Micro Enterprise program is scheduled to begin on April 26, 1999, at the South Metro Career Center in San Diego. Classes run from Monday through Thursday, from 12:30 - 4:30 p.m., and will hold a maximum of 20 people. Students will be chosen from the completed applications which will be distributed at a two-hour mandatory Orientation Program. The next Orientation is scheduled on April 16 from 9:00 a.m.
