Easter is a time of reflection and normally a time of joy.
Easter is Spring time, a time of rebirth. A time to gather with family and friends. A time to dress in fresh new spring fashions, weather permitting. A time to watch the children hunt Easter eggs. A time to go to church and reflect on the true meaning of Easter - Jesus dying on the cross for the sins of humanity.
But this year our joy is tempered as it appears that America is being drawn into a war with a country that a few months ago most Americans knew very little about. With the capture of three American soldiers our fears are mounting that this will come to pass.
This holiday season our hearts will be heavy as we pray, along with the families of the captured Americans, for a swift and safe return of our men.
