Chingazo Revue at the Centro

The Centro Cultural de la Raza in collaboration with three of San Diego’s top Chicano bands will host a Cinco de Mayo Celebration on May 4th, Cuatro de Mayo at the Centro Cultural de la Raza with the premiere of the Chingazo Revue. Directed by renowned Latin jazz musician Bill Caballero, the Chingazo Revue features the talents of Chicano icon Chunky Sanchez and Los Alacranes, political messenger Quino and a little sabor and baile with Agua Dulce.

Sunday, May 4th at 6:00 pm, The Centro Cultural de la Raza, Balboa Park.

Admission is $10-15.

35th Annual Adams Avenue Roots & Folk Festival

The 35th Annual Adams Avenue Roots & Folk Festival will feature more than 40 musical acts performing on seven stages on Adams Avenue, located in Normal Heights. Saturday, May 2, 2008 thru Sunday from 10 am to 8pm.

Bring the family and enjoy more than 200 food, arts & craft vendors selling their specialties along Adams Avenue.

Chula Vista’s 11th Annual Cinco de Mayo Festival on Third Avenue

Third Avenue Village will celebrate Mexico’s heritage at the 11th Annual Festival Cinco de Mayo on Sunday, May 4th. The event will feature live entertainment, authentic Mexican food, beverages, and crafts, a kids’ fun zone, a singing and dancing contest , and much more! Festival will take place between G & E Streets in Chula Vista’s Third Avenue Village on May 4th, from 11am -7pm. Admission is FREE.

Community of Rancho Peñasquitos to Host 13th Annual Fiesta de los Peñasquitos

Approximately 15,000 people will set foot in Rancho Peñasquitos to attend the annual “Fiesta de los Penasquitos” community festival. The Fiesta de los Penasquitos is a family oriented annual street faire for residents of the Rancho Penasquitos community. The theme this year is “A Celebration of Family and Community” and many of the festivities are geared toward celebrating the different cultures that exist in the community.
